"The club membership sub has been the biggest ROI I've ever had. Like, this is absolutely insane, seeing everything that's happened since I got wind of the club last Fall." — Dex Copeland

The GRC Engineering Club Academy

Certifications for the GRC engineering discipline

One academy, a growing family of credentials, all built by GRC engineers, for the people doing the work. Video training, hands-on labs, real exams, and capstones you submit on GitHub.

How the Academy works

Every credential follows the same hands-on path. You learn it, you build it, then you prove it.

Video training

Self-paced courses built by working GRC engineers, mapped to the skills employers actually list.

Hands-on labs

Build real systems in real repos. Terraform, OPA/Rego, pipelines, and evidence, not slides and flashcards.

A real exam and capstone

Prove the skill, not recall. Most certs end in a graded project you submit on GitHub against a published rubric.

Different by design

Built by the people who actually do GRC engineering.

Built by Practitioners

Created by working GRC engineers, not vendors or test-prep companies.

Community-Driven

Future courses contributed by community members who are experts in their domains.

Free for Members

Club members get full access to every cert and exam at no extra cost.

Hands-On, Not Theoretical

You build real systems. Labs, projects, and infrastructure, not flashcards.

Questions about the Academy

What is the GRC Engineering Club Academy?

The Academy is a practitioner-built home for GRC engineering certifications. Each credential validates hands-on ability to design, implement, and evaluate engineered compliance, through video training, real labs, and a graded capstone rather than multiple-choice recall.

Which certifications can I earn?

Two are open today: the CGE-P (Certified GRC Engineer, Practitioner), available now, and the CGE-AUD (Auditor Specialty), in beta ahead of its July 15, 2026 launch. The roadmap adds an Associate level, a Professional level, more specialty tracks across AWS, Azure, GCP, AI, and RMF, and a Python for GRC track.

How much do the certifications cost?

Every certification is free for active GRC Engineering Club members ($9.99/month, locked forever for early members). For non-members, the CGE-P is $250 and the CGE-AUD is $350, each a one-time fee that includes the training, labs, exam, and certificate.

Do I need to be a Club member to enroll?

No. Anyone can buy a certification directly. Members simply get every cert and exam included with membership, which is why most candidates join the Club first.

How are these different from CISA, CRISC, or CGRC?

Those certifications test audit and governance knowledge through multiple choice. The Academy tests engineering skill through real work, such as forking a non-compliant Terraform repo, writing policy to catch the violations, fixing the code, and submitting a pull request graded on correctness, compliance mapping, code quality, and documentation.

How do I get started?

Pick a certification above. Start the CGE-P now, or explore the CGE-AUD. To get every cert free, join the GRC Engineering Club first, then enroll from inside the Academy.
